This coffee from the Fedecovera Cooperatice (Federacion de Cooperativas de las Verapaces) in Guatemala brings a punchy and warm flavour to your decaf brew. Processed using the eco-friendly CO2 method, the rich character, nuances and complexities of the beans are preserved, with the caffeine removed. This is a full bodied and juicy cup, enjoyed best as a filter or even cafetiere, but works well all round.
Origin: Established in 1976,
this collective had established itseld with just a small amount of producers working in unison, yet today it boasts 42 cooperatives and 21 associations as a whole. The cooperative actually reperesents to this day around 33000 producer familiesin the lish highlands of Guatemala. Within this location, there are 22 Mayan indigenous communities and the producers of FEDECOVERA account for two of them: The Poqomchi and the Q'eqchi . The cooperative has now diversified across other forms of agriculture including cocoa, tea, pepper and turmeric - coffee however remains a large focus.
