Despite continued setbacks, the mission has and continues to be to exclusively show the as many people as possible, starting with the UK where we live, the remarkable wonders of what Venezuelan coffee farmers are able to produce.This will be in a uniquely traceable, farmer focused manner, likely creating the only verifiable Venezuelan coffee near you. Within this comical journey, we have fallen head over heels with coffee farmers and their magical beans, and as such we have expanded and are now able to offer a selection of other carefully sourced coffee beans from individual growers across the Americas.
Thankfully, sourcing these were less of a mountain to climb!
A former top three exporter worldwide, Venezuela now provides just less than one percent of total global production. The make up of this combines political weaponization of not just coffee within the South American nation, but the entire agricultural industry, beginning in the early 2000’s and continuing to this day.
Farmers remain in fear of expropriation and therefore in secrecy. Furthermore, bureaucratic barricades to export goods and efforts to extort individuals remain firm. We are having such a wild time sourcing a good few brews that you can keep track of our journey on our blog - showing all trials and tribulations we are facing in our endeavour.
