The cup greets you with gentle nutty undertones, similar to roasted almonds, which are complemented by a bright, citrus-like acidity that adds vibrancy. Its delicate body and smooth finish create a stunning and understated taste of the Andes' untouched charm. Or something like that... Makes a dam good espresso too.
Origin: Venezuela, Finca la Lomita - Santa Cruz de Mora, Mérida.
Finca la Lomita is buried in the dramatic Andean foothills surrounding Aricagua. Coffee farming in this region is still very much a family business, with our producer Alfredo Andrade and his brother Luis being no exception. In the process of merging traditional processing methods with modern strategies to increase bean quality from planting to harvesting, Alfredo has also placed a large emphasis on being organic. As many may be aware from our former blogs, it is not currently possible to obtain international organic certification with Venezuela... for a multitude of reasons. This however does not deter the farmer from using solely organic methods, and this ultimately is reflective in the quality of the coffee produced.
