An update from your roasters…
Well. Life has been busy. Now we are probably telling you something that you already know, but as independent coffee roasters, who just kickstarted this dream earlier in the year, we still have other roles throughout the week that keep us ticking over whilst we speak our coffee dreams into existence one bag at a time 😊
As an additional insight and a big clue into what sector we work in, we both now have a much awaited few days off after a 7/8 week stretch, where we can finalise some of our latest Andes Project plans. But before we get cracking, we do like to keep our loyal coffee crew in the loop of what is happening with us.
Recently, we have been putting together our coffee cart to further expand our business which has involved buying our beautiful LaMarzocco espresso machine that we have embarrassingly named, as well as building the rest of our cart which is still under some construction. More goes into this than you think, believe us, but to name a few; Water filter kits, plumbing kits, built in rinser, new grinder and all round extra space for brewing and bakes and filters and all sorts of madness. Super excited to get this complete so that we can begin some popups towards the end of the year and into 2025. When we do have the finished article, we will do a blog post explaining exactly what choices we have made and why.
Whilst all of this shifts into place, we are still on the hunt for additional venues to collaborate with near us for pop-ups and tastings. Alongside this, we are still looking into finding a semi-permanent week day location nearer too, to do a spot of closer-to-home roasting.
Next week we will be dropping a new coffee with a story, but in the background our main mission is that we have been working to get our hands on some specialty coffee beans from the 24’ Venezuelan harvest. The harvest has been a little delayed due to some recent events of course... yet through perseverance as always, we will be unleashing some gems soon.
To accompany our brews, we are also looking at Venezuelan chocolate we can add to our offerings and blow your mind with - sooner rather than later we hope!
And on top of all of this, we participated in Gustatory’s monthly coffee subscription for September and throughout October we have had both Carlos Avila and Hermanos Zambrano as guest beans throughout the UK – Even more of a buzz for us when we do so in a Venezuelan spot, like the one our panas have over in La Bodega, Glasgow!
That may be it... well let you know!
